WHO THE HELL
IS RAIN OF DOOM?

Rain of Doom Edition is an independent publishing project born in Paris from a shared love of comics, illustration and beautifully strange things.

Founded by artists, we publish books, fanzines
and printed objects that don't always fit neatly into boxes: dark, tender, funny, unsettling, cute, or sometimes all at once.

Above all,
we make the books
we want to read.

Above all, we make the books we want to read.

why
do you make
fanzines?

Because
i find them
authentic.

It wasn't supposed to become a publishing house.

In 2022, Tony and Vincent decided to make something together for the Angoulême International Comics Festival. Tony wrote and drew If I Was Your Music, while Vincent took care of the art direction, production and publishing.

Their shared love of music and comics shaped the project from the beginning. While working on Le Grand Bain, Vincent had received a series of drawings from Tony that all had one thing in common: a cassette tape. That small connection eventually planted the seed for a fanzine of short stories.

They imagined it like a mixtape: personal, imperfect and filled with little stories and meanings. An object made to be shared, kept and returned to when you need somewhere to escape.

That spirit never
really left us.

THE BEGINNING

THEN SOME FRIENDS SHOWED UP

There was no grand plan to become publishers.
Then Maëva “Windy” Corderet had a project they loved. The three talked about it over a drink and decided to make it happen.
No business plan, no expectations : just the shared desire to create something freely.
A Little Wind in a Jar became Windy's first Rain of Doom edition.
People connected with it, especially during Windy's signings, and a second collaboration, Funus Myceli, naturally followed.

D.C. Akins later joined the adventure with The Gallery, a first editorial project that gave a young artist the opportunity to experience the process of turning her work into a published object.

Rain of Doom kept growing the same way: one project, one artist and one idea at a time.

RAIN OF DOOM EDITION

accidentaly,
a publishing house.

By January 2025, the joke was starting to look suspiciously like a publishing house.

Three fanzines existed, more projects were taking shape, and Rain of Doom needed a proper structure. Tony and Vincent officially founded Rain of Doom Edition.

Tony remains on the creative side: writing, drawing and lending his experience to the artists they work with. Vincent handles the editorial, production and administrative side of the project.

They remain its two co-founders, choosing projects together for one very scientific reason:

They want to read them.

WHY WE DO IT

That's pretty much the rule.

Rain of Doom looks for stories anyone can connect with: something tender, something a little dark, and above all something that speaks to us.

We created Rain of Doom to make things without shaping them for an imaginary audience. No changing a story because it might not appeal to enough people. No sanding down an idea to make it easier to sell.

Some of these projects may never make much financial sense. That's okay. They exist because we wanted to make them.

Years from now, we want to open one of our old editions and still be proud of exactly what we made.
No filters. No changes made to please someone else's eye.

OUR LITTLE PARADISE

WHAT'S NEXT?

An anthology of Tony's Rain of Doom fanzines.
An exhibition.
A collective book bringing together artists we love.

Maybe all of it. Maybe something completely different.

more cute things,
probably.
